Here I have got a cd from year 2007 by a fine band from New York, Finn and the Sharks. Playing together more than 30 years, the band have formed their own sound, which unites all American roots music. With this cd you’ll get coctail of blues, rock’n’roll and country… sometimes with some heavy, rock sparkle. And you have to try everything on this drinking party, otherwise you will never understand properly the soul of the band. In every note you hear the harmony of sound (that what we call perfection?), and easiness they can listen to each other and communicate. Well, it is always a pleasure to hear that kind of bands even if they play not exactly the music you are crazy about.

Let’s jump to the facts and give you a review of that release. The cd contains 16 self-penned songs. Yes, all of them are self-written, mostly by Billy and Steven Roues, and were recorded in 2006. Even though the musical skills of guys look impressive (for example, lead singer James Finnen instrument list is beginning from guitars, walking through sax, and finishing with organ) one more guest was invited for recordings: Kenny Margolis for piano and accordion. So as you see noone can complain about boredom and absence of variety: different moods, different styles... for different tastes.
If you like American roots music, I guess, you won’t find anything to complain about. It is the right cd for you to grab and it certainly will be one of favourites in your collection… or, probably it might even become your number one.
