The RockiníSouth was released by Ace Records, whose records capture the biggest part of all rockíníroll records stalls and shops. Most of those cds are suprisingly good. Probably because it is somehow collecting the best songs of the best artists, and this way making out of Ace a big name.
The compilation has 30 songs (rare recordings from NRC group of labels, which include Wonder, Judd, Fox and Scottie). Most of them were released in late 50's, the time of most wild and crazy rockíníroll. So all songs have rockiní beat, which is perfect for dancing and singing along (the louder the better).
So prepare to take a walk through the cemetary with The Cat (song by Rob Wills - I guess, known only by this song, which appeared on his record in 1959); to do The Rock-a-Round with a Paul Peek (formely of Gene Vincentís Blue Caps); after that pleading together with Sweetie Jones (his mum was right, giving him such a nicknameÖ he is really sweetie!.. by look and by singing) Baby Donít Leave. Oh, what a turn on is the next bluesy story with the name The Coo told by a sexy voice of Wayne Cochran - perfect for a striptease a-la 50s! It was banned those times, but in two years became a local chartmaker and a juxebox favourite. Listen and you will understand why. Hey, spacemen are coming with the next composition The Little Moon Man by Lee George. Everyone knows this song, if you donít, that means that you are not much into rockíníroll! More rockíníroll? Ok, just wait till the next one Ė Splashiní (also released after two years on the same label under different name - Jump, Man, Jump) by Shades. Want more? When you get out of your cosy armchair, make a walk to the nearest music shop (which sells rockíníroll) and if you are lucky, buy this cd yourself. Have a pleasant listening!
