"Million Dollar Quartet" headed to Broadway

02 September 2009
"Million Dollar Quartet" — the musical based on the legendary impromptu 1956 Sun Records recording session in Memphis that included Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis — is headed to Broadway.

Directed by Eric Schaeffer, with book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux, the show opened at the Goodman Theatre in October 2008, before moving last November to its current home at the Apollo Theater, 2540 N Lincoln.

"Million Dollar Quartet" was recently nominated for three Jeff Awards including best production of a musical (Large) and best ensemble.

The show is scheduled to open on Broadway in Spring 2010. Broadway casting and theater have not yet been announced.
