The World's Greatest Elvis Tribute Concert is coming to the Harrogate International Centre on Sunday August 30, in a show which combines the talents of the best Elvis tribute artists in the world with some of the original Elvis Presley band members.
The show, which claims to take the audience closer than they ever dreamed to witnessing an original concert by The King, played to more than 5,000 last year in Bolton, and this year's tour also takes in the Manchester Apollo and St David's Hall, Cardiff.
It not only features American tribute artist Shawn Klush, who in 2007 was named the World's Greatest Elvis by 6.5 million international viewers on BBC1 television, but also DJ Fontana, the legendary drummer who played on all of Presley's greatest hits, and his original backing singers, The Sweet Inspirations.
Also appearing at the Harrogate show will be Chris Connor, one of the UK's leading Elvis tribute artist, e earlier this year, he was in the BBC's 'Let's Dance for Comic Relief' show. He will be performing the Las Vegas rehearsals.
There will also be turns from Gordon Hendricks, winner of ITV's stars in Their Eyes performing the 1968 Comeback Special (Black Leathers), young Elvis impersonator Jamie McDonnell Roberts performing Young/ Early Elvis era songs, and Steve Preston, the only tribute artiste to perform on the Royal Variety Show.
