The 31-year-old aspiring fashion designer, model and event coordinator, Joanna Coblentz, wanted to put on a show meshing her love of rockabilly music, retro fashion and local artists.
So she realizes her nightmare at Saturday's "Drop Dead Gorgeous Zombie Fashion Show" which takes place from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. at The Cabana Inn, 2525 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota.
The free show will feature plenty of undead lovelies sporting eclectic fashions strutting down the cat walk between performances by headliners the Kings of Hell and Redliners.
During the afternoon, the show features live painting, a barbecue and vendors, including Bradentucky Bombers, Atomic Bazaar and Oddity Tattoo.
To expand the edgy theme throughout the night, Coblentz wanted a rockabilly vibe, so she turned to local promoters Poorhouse Productions, which snagged the appropriate headliners. "I really wanted tattooed hot guys with pompadours and stand-up basses on stage," she said with a laugh.
Tampa-based Tommy "DJ Nemesis" Barrett will provide rocking beats between sets and cat walks.
