The Surf Ballroom and Museum is announcing a series of events to mark the 50th anniversary of the plane crash that killed Buddy Holly, J.P. "the Big Bopper" Richardson and Ritchie Valens.
Nearly a week's worth of events will begin on Wednesday the 28th of January.
On that date, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will dedicate the Surf as a historic landmark as the place Buddy Holly, Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens played their final concert.
The days will be filled with concerts, symposiums and tours.
The event will culminate with a 50 Winters Later Landmark Concert on Monday February 2nd. And tt will feature several performers including Graham Nash, Los Lobos and the Crickets.
