AMC (American Movie Classics) is sending a film crew to document BlobFest and Blob Ball for a sci-fi special. In addition, the Boston Globe and WQED in Pittsburg are covering the event.
Steel City Coffee House, Tyler James Pub and The Rivers Rockabilly Trio are joining forces to create the biggest event to hit Phoenixville. The Blob Ball is a celebration of all things Blob, including movie, music of the 1950's, 50's culture, and dance.
The Blob Ball commence on Friday, July 11th (first day of the
BlobFest) around 9 pm, right after the "running out scene"
reenactment at the Colonial Theatre. After the running out, you can join this exciting event on the second floor of Tyler James Pub. The Rivers Rockabilly Trio will play music from the 1950's including great dance tunes that will get you "All Shook Up".
The night will include contests for best 50's overall dress (male and female), best 50's celebrity costume, best 50's scary movie costume, and best dancer(s).
A portion of each ticket will go to the historic Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, where portions of The Blob was filmed.
