Madmen turned away from UK

27 August 2007
Croatian cats The Mad Men were billed to play at last week's Lowton's Nifty 50's rockabilly show, but were turned away by immigration officers at the airport in London. The band was carrying guitars, the presence of which was questioned by officers and as the band didn't have appropriate performers visas. They were refused entry and flew back home.

It's not the first case of this kind, as we mentioned earlier this year, Al & The Black Cats from America were weren't allowed enter the UK for the same reason.

Still, Nifty Fifties rockabilly mini-festival had a great line up of bands including The Go-Getters, Hi Viltage and Slim Slip & The Sliders on Saturday and on Sunday The Drugstore Cowboys and The Cathouse Creepers.

Next two shows at Nifty 50s are Jack Rabbit Slim on 29 September and Al & The Black Cats on 27 October.
